The Preamble of the United States Constitution

Learning the Preamble to the United States Constitution is fun with Freedom and Liberty!

The Preamble is at the very beginning of our Constitution. It is similar to a mission statement. It outlines six purposes of the Constitution and commitments made by the people when it is ratified or agreed upon.

This is the preamble. The capital letters focus on the six purposes of the Consititution.

"We the people of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect UNION, establish JUSTICE, insure domestic TRANQUILITY, provide for the common DEFENCE, promote the general WELFARE, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our POSTERITY, do ordain and establish this Constitution of the United States of America."

We invite you to join (below) with 'Freedom' and 'Liberty' in a learning activity with hand language to the Preamble of the United States Constitution.
